On the Metahash blockchain, the community has the power to make changes. This invariably means that applications on the Metahash blockchain belong to no one and everyone. All applications are created for users instead of for some sect of people who maximizes the profit.
In the previous article, I wrote about the four generations of the blockchain technology. In the article, I made mention of some of the advantages of other existing blockchains which Metahash wishes to improve on. Some of these advantages are:
- Through the blockchain technology, the speed of transactions has increased from days (when dealing with fiat) to minutes (bitcoin) and seconds. But with the Metahash, the speed of transaction will be faster than any other existing blockchain as it will take only three seconds to confirm transaction and Metahash can handle up to 100, 000 transaction per second.
- The transaction fee that is experienced with the blockchain is much lower than that of the fiat currencies especially when transacting over a very long distance (cross-border payments). Because of the increased bandwidth, transactions with Metahash will have a much lower transaction fee (as a matter of fact, the lowest there is).
- Some blockchains operate on the principle of proof of work, which consumes a lot of power but metahash operates on Proof of Stake or voting system which consumes much lower power.
- Some existing blockchains are not fully decentralized but Metathash is fully decentralized.
- Metahash also unifies all other blockchains as all ERC20 tokens can be converted directly to MHC and MHC can be stored as an ERC20 token and in waves wallet. Metahash also has anchor or backup on the Bitcoin and Etherium wallet.
With Metahash any application can be decentralized no matter the programming language used to develop it.

Metahash allows the decentralization of any application no matter the programming language used to build through MtaApps and MetaGate. Any application that will be built on the Metahash network has to be accepted by the MHC holders. This is why voting is conducted for the community to decide which application is built on the blockchain. Users also get to decide which feature or update they want in any application that is already on the Tracechain all through voting. Any change in behavior to be introduced by the developer has to be voted in favor by the community before it is implemented.
Metahash is open source, this means that any developer can use its codes to make his own application decentralized. Metahash also supports ICO for new projects. Projects can run their Ico on the blockchain without having to create or execute a smart contract which requires programming skills, instead, they can use the tools offered by the MetaICO to run their ICO without the need for any deep or significant programming skills.
